About grades & sources
What the grades mean
Under Georgia food-service rules, letter grades are based on inspection scores roughly as follows: A 90–100, B 80–89, C 70–79, U 69 or below. See Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. 511-6-1-.10 and the official inspection form. Establishments are also required to post their current inspection report for the public.
Our role
Cherokee Eats republishes grades, scores, and inspection dates that are already public, together with links to official report pages when available. We also show business names, addresses, and approximate map locations to help you find a place; we do not currently publish third-party phone numbers, hours, or ratings. We do not invent grades, alter official scores, or speak for any health authority.
Accuracy & updates
We refresh inspection data on a regular schedule from the official portal. If a refresh fails, we may temporarily show the last successfully retrieved data and note when it was last checked. If you believe a grade, address, or status is wrong, contact us through the tips form — and please also check the official portal, which remains the source of truth.
Fairness to businesses
A single inspection is one day’s observation. We show the inspection date next to every grade and, where available, recent history so readers can see trends. We aim for neutral wording and do not label businesses as unsafe based solely on a letter grade.
Third-party data & maps
We currently do not show phone numbers, websites, hours, prices or star ratings. Cuisine labels are our own, based on business names. Map pins use independent geocoding (U.S. Census / OpenStreetMap) and are approximate. Map tiles and geodata are attributed to OpenStreetMap contributors (and any tile host we use at launch).
No endorsement / commercial notice
Listings are informational. Presence, order, or prominence on this site does not mean we recommend a business. If advertising is added later, ads will be labeled separately from inspection data.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Cherokee Eats and its operators are not responsible for decisions you make based on this site, for temporary errors or outages, or for third-party content linked from here. Use the official health department sources for any matter that requires an authoritative record.
